American Diamond, usually shortened to AD, is the name used in India for faceted, colourless or coloured synthetic stones that are cut to sparkle. AD jewellery gives a bright, crisp shine that works well under evening and stage lighting.

What AD jewellery is
AD stones are man-made, commonly cubic zirconia, and are not diamonds. They are set in a silver-tone, rose-tone or gold-tone base. Because each stone is faceted, AD pieces look sharp and modern compared with the softer glow of Kundan.
